Is TV violence really the cause of violent children?

There are so many parents that are afraid to let their kids watch violent TV shows because there scared their children will become violent themselves. But that is not going to happen, it's true that TV violence has a correlation with violent children but it is not the cause of violent children. So in this essay I’m going to tell you what I think is.
The first point I’m going to make is that not too long ago mothers used to be with their children all the time telling them the difference between right and wrong, but these recent years’ moms and dads are both working all the time so they don’t have the time to make sure their children know violence is bad. Because parents are so concerned with having the best car and the biggest TV they will work long hours to get the best pay when the parents are gone children will often use TV as a replacement for them and letting the TV shows teach them right from wrong, so if at least one of the parents were there to tell the kids that violence is bad there would be a decrease in child violence.
Also children have violent tendencies from very young ages, at a young age is when children either learn to be violent or "normal”. Some parents start at a very young age so they don’t really know how to handle their children. To get what they want children will often act out in angry ways if the parent doesn’t know how to handle it they will respond to the children angry which will teach the kids that anger and violence is the normal way to go about things, so they will use anger or violence in there every day life, I believe parents need to learn skills to deal with angry children so they can help the children to not be violent so in the end it’s up to the parents whether or not the child becomes violent or "normal".
My last point is that there are some studies that show TV violence is good for your children, often time’s parents think the only thing children are paying attention to is the violence, but the children are actually paying attention to the story lines and the characters. Often times the main character is a good guy that defends the weak and punishes the evil, if a villain robs a bank he will get caught and punished which teaches the children that you don’t get away with committing crimes or doing bad things. There are millions of children who watch violent TV shows every day yet we only have a couple of kids that are actually violent this shows that just because you watch violent things doesn’t mean you are going to become violent. Because of the themes were the bad guy always loses it might actually make children not want to commit crimes.
To finish this, these point prove that it is not really the fault of TV shows but actually the cause of parents who don’t have time to spend with their kids or don’t know how to deal with their kids.
